These monochrome, abstract and intriguing landscapes seem to be the expression of a boundless imagination. Based on pure pigments, the blue here acquires a very particular intensity and allows Philippe Pastor to express his entire plastic language while advancing towards unexplored spaces, which are increasingly unusual and surprising. Blue, with its many connotations, is ever more present in his work, to the point of inciting the artist to approach the classical genre of the sublime: the experience of nature is more existential and subjective. Subsequently, the ecological dimension is primarily situated in the emotional relationship that Philippe Pastor wishes to establish between the viewer and the image. This series is a direct reference to marine pollution, to the numerous attacks on marine ecosystems resulting from human activities.
